Canada repeats call for ceasefire in Sri Lanka
OTTAWA — The Sri Lankan government’s absolute refusal Thursday for a ceasefire in its civil war with Tamil rebels to allow humanitarian aid to get to civilians trapped in the fighting and allow them to flee is troubling, Canada’s foreign affairs minister says.
“I’m extremely disappointed,” Lawrence Cannon said. “We have called for a ceasefire for months now. We want these people to receive basic needs and medical attention.”
Cannon’s remarks came hours after Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapaksa rejected renewed calls from several countries and the U.N. to halt military operations against the rebels, who are now pinned down on a small piece of land along with an estimated 50,000 civilians. (The Ottawa Citizen)

What else we expect from a county like Sri Lanka which is in control of war mongers who enjoy in blood path of civilians. High time for the UN to intervene using military forces to stop the brutality in Sri Lanka
